Traffic, Traffic, Traffic
It's official. That four way stop light on 1st street in Bennett is functioning! After many delays and scary accidents, the lights are ablaze. It seemed to take much longer than the town anticipated, but at least its done. This should also help slowing the traffic on 1st street. The increase in cars on the road as a result of the new homes being built has certainly provided an uptick in the speed throughout the day.
Although the ramps at the Bennett exit are open, after several days of closure, there still seems to be issues. The ramps were certainly widened, and will eventually be a smoother exit, but there is certainly more to do. CDOT did pave the ramps, but the bridge is even more of a mess than before. The crew didn't finalize the creases where the paving ends and the weight of semis in just a few days has created craters that are worse than the potholes that were there before. I hope CDOT doesn't think that's it. It won't last long. Half done = we WILL have to start again. Hoping for a quick and COMPLETE resolution soon! |
