THIRD WORLD DISEASES COMING OUR WAY
President Biden’s radical open borders policies have created the worst border crisis in American history. This has caused an increase in gang activity including transport of marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. Human trafficking is now at an all-time high. The number of illegal border crossings at the northern and southern borders and all ports of entry since January 2021 totals more than eight million people, greater than the individual populations of 38 U.S. states.
Now we are beginning to see additional problems here in the U.S. because of the uncontrolled entry of so many people. New York and California historically receive the most immigrants and New York is now experiencing new problems related to these immigration policies. A startling 50% of migrants streaming into New York City are not vaccinated against the contagious and potentially deadly poliovirus, city Health Commissioner Ashwin Vasan recently revealed. Many migrants are bringing polio into the U.S. Polio, which can permanently paralyze a person is fatal in between 2 and 10 percent of the cases because it damages the muscles that are needed to breathe. |
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), chickenpox is rare in the United States. But Vasan says there have been outbreaks of chickenpox in the shelters housing recently arriving migrants. Chickenpox is highly contagious. If one person has it, up to 90 percent of the people close to that person will also become infected unless they are immune. And it can be very serious, even life-threatening.
Measles is another extremely contagious communicable disease that is being brought to the United States from other countries. The CDC says that although measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000, it has been brought to the United States in recent years by infected travelers from other countries.
The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) has reported that a Maryland resident got malaria from someone who got it in another country and brought it to Maryland.

Hansen’s disease, more commonly known as leprosy, is another example. It is very rare in the United States. But it has become endemic in Florida. According to the CDC, circumstances indicate that the source of the leprosy was the international migration of persons with the disease.
Tuberculosis is a highly contagious disease caused by a bacterial infection. It primarily affects the lungs, but can also affect the brain, kidneys and spine. TB has been identified in many immigrants. New diseases are beginning to emerge in the United States such as Dengue Fever and Typhoid, but testing by Healthy Border 2020 reveal issues with common diseases such as HIV/AIDS, gonorrhea, congenital syphilis, hepatitis A and B, and bacterial enteric diseases such as listeriosis, non-typhoid Salmonellosis, and vibriosis. But it seems that the writing has been on the wall for some time. War correspondent and journalist, Michael Yon, has been warning for years that these outbreaks were happening in migrant camps, and that the open-border policies would import these diseases into the United States. (Watch his interview “Border & Diseases” on Epoch TV if you can, for more details.) |
In addition to the concerns of possible infections, is the question of how these people get medical care and who pays for it.
Currently in Colorado, illegal immigrants can get healthcare insurance. According to Omni Salud, a part of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, every company that sells health insurance in Colorado "has to offer plans with a specific set of lower, fixed costs and make them available to everyone – no matter their documentation status."
And in its inaugural year of operation, the state (tax payers) has paid insurance companies $73 million under the OmniSalud state-run marketplace option.
Non-citizens who make less than $20,385 per year can also qualify for free health insurance, called the Silver Enhanced Savings Plan; in exchange, they get the full spectrum of care: doctors’ visits, maternal care, diabetes medication, and generic drugs. If an undocumented immigrant makes more than that threshold, they can qualify for deeply-discounted premiums to also access the full range of medical coverage.
According to Connect for Health Colorado, 9,603 of the 10,416 undocumented immigrants who signed up for OmniSalud qualified for zero-dollar premiums. All who show up with a medical emergency must be treated -- regardless of ability to pay -- per Federal law.
Citizens are underwriting the goal of "health equity" through the state's newly-formed Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise. But it's that funding mechanism that has a trio of Republican Congress members blowing the whistle, saying the state-run marketplace plan for non-citizens violates the Affordable Care Act, or "Obamacare," which states:
"Undocumented immigrants aren’t eligible to buy Marketplace health coverage, or for premium tax credits and other savings on Marketplace plans. But they may apply for coverage on behalf of documented individuals."

Congressman Ken Buck, Doug Lamborn, and Congresswoman Lauren Boebert authored this letter in 2022 stating that "Colorado is manipulating this process in order to violate Federal law and relegate Coloradans to second tier status with respect to health care accessibility."
The letter goes on to state: "In a country of approximately 330 million people, it is indefensible for the federal government to proceed down a path that could lead to a policy that forces tens of millions of federal taxpayers to subsidize lawbreakers against their will." According to a spokesman for Congressman Buck, there has been no response from Health and Human Services, the Treasury Department, or the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid since sending the letter last year. The trio, however, does plan to introduce legislation this summer that would mimic one last session, preventing undocumented immigrants from tapping into marketplace plans. |
I guess my first response to this mess is what was the Biden administration thinking? How can you allow 8 million (or more) people into this country without “counting the cost.” Was there no speculation about diseases or medical costs? Or, was this the “knee jerk” socialistic reaction of the Democratic “do-gooders” who spend our money for their causes?
I have a hard time justifying free medical aid (paid for by citizens of the U.S.) for people breaking U.S. law; while law abiding U.S. citizens struggle to pay for their own medical bills and prescriptions. Hmm??
