Bennett Development Takes Off
Bennett continues to explode as the central planning team continues to add more residential developments in the town. The Board of Trustees have published yet another round of proposals for single family residences. The first map below highlights individual That, along with the dedication ceremony of the newly constructed million gallon water tank last month makes you wonder what else they have in mind for this small town that has a bottleneck traffic situation at the Bennett off ramp from I-70. Map #1 below shows the different stages of housing and commercial developments. The red area indicate the planning phase for 4 large sections of town. This will add a large number of families to town. The only thing saving the board is the proposal to add an interchange off of I-70 just west of the Bennett exit at Harback Rd (see map #2). More could and SHOULD be done to remedy the traffic issues. The amount of time spent on the off ramp at Bennett continues to grow. So do the huge craters on that the semis create when they exit. This map also reveals that the city of working towards an express bus service to the Denver metro area, a commuter rail service along the current rail line.

There are many in the communities along the corridor and beyond, to create a group that will meet the needs of the local elderly, youth and small businesses. The Corridor Community Connections group is in the beginning stages of a network of communities coming together to connect the corridor towns of Strasburg, Byers, Deer Trail, Bennett and beyond.
The next meeting for the group is Wednesday, May 3rd @ 6:30 pm. This is a free event, and no membership fee to join if you are interested in signing on.
