BULLY BEAR
I don’t know about you, but I have always had skepticism regarding Russia (USSR) since watched the Premier of USSR, Nikita Khrushchev, pounding his shoe on a United Nation podium in 1960. I had never seen a political leader acting like a little kid who couldn’t get his way. I couldn’t get away with that, but he did it in front of all those national leaders. If you would like to see the tantrum see the video. Two years later Kennedy was informed that U-2 reconnaissance revealed Soviet medium range missiles with nuclear capabilities in Cuba that could reach most major cities and military targets in the US. |

I remember we started doing bomb drills in school, moving quickly to the yellow fallout shelter signs and getting under tables. Kennedy and his advisers had hard decisions to make. Great article on the issues involved in the decision, but ultimately, we quarantined Cuba and Khrushchev picked up his missiles and went home. This is standard operation for Russia. They, as well as China, have the desire to “rule the world” and be the most powerful, wealthy, accomplished, socialistic country and they will do anything to accomplish this even if it means bullying, cheating, lying, imprisoning, or killing people that get in the way. The doping of Kamila Valieva, a Russian ice skater, is proof of their tactics. When you test positive for drugs prior to competition you should not compete. But, the problem is that Russia has had a history of doping their athletes. |
Wada (World Anti-Doping Agency) said a number of Russian athletes suspected of doping competed at the London 2012 Olympics. As a result, Russian athletes were banned from track and field events at the 2016 Rio Summer Games.
In 2016, Russia was revealed to have operated a state-sponsored doping program across summer and winter Olympic sports. This program included tampering with tests at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games, which Russia hosted and in which it topped the medal table. It added that officers from the Russian security service, the FSB, were present at testing labs and this was part of a wider pattern of "direct intimidation and interference by the Russian state with the Moscow laboratory operations".
In 2019, Russian teams were banned from all major sporting events by Wada. Interesting that the IOC allowed Russian athletes who were drug free to compete under the name Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) as long as they didn’t wear or display the Russia flag. The ban was set to last until December this year. Sounds like there is no agreement between WADA and IOC. This is the same problem that plagues our country: no accountability, no consistency, no honor to officials or rules, and lax enforcement of consequences and misplaced sympathy for the offender or the offender’s coaches or political system.
This extends to the issue of the Ukraine. Putin has made it clear that he wants to return to the Post-Cold War boundaries which he has been steadily doing.

JUST GOT REPORT OF RUSSIAN INVASION OF UKRAINE!!
Putin has now started a full invasion of an independent country and says if anyone intervenes, they will see “Russia’s response will be immediate and will lead you to such consequences that you have never experienced in your history.” Well, here is what I was talking about. There is no concern for the innocent, just the desires of the powerful to get what they want. The question is what does the U.S. do now? I don’t believe that Putin would have attempted this under Pres. Trump but with Pres. Biden in charge he doesn’t feel threatened. I really don’t have words to end this article, as my mind is diverted at this time to the suffering in the Ukraine. I will add one thing. With all eyes on Ukraine, people are distracted from what is going on south of us. |
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro recently pledged a “powerful military cooperation” with Russia. Several other nations gathered to discuss steps toward a negotiated solution to the South American country’s protracted crisis.
These nations were told by Maduro that this cooperation with Russia would provide a path for the defense of peace, of sovereignty, and the defense of territorial integrity. Maduro said during a news conference, “We are going to increase all the preparation, training and cooperation plans with a military power in the world such as Russia.”
Kremlin officials have dropped hints that such measures could involve military deployments in the Western Hemisphere, prompting analysts and the state-controlled media to indulge in feverish speculation that the moves could include audacious steps, not ruled out by Russian officials, like deploying nuclear missiles to friendly countries in Latin America. |
Keep your eyes open! Don’t get fearful! But pray and keep your faith in God!
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always
keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
