JUSTICE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
Over 400 people were detained in Russia while paying tribute to opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died at a remote Arctic penal colony on February 16. The sudden death of Navalny, 47, was a crushing blow to many Russians, who had pinned their hopes for the future on him.
Navalny had been jailed since January 2021, when he returned to Moscow after recuperating in Germany from nerve agent poisoning that he blamed on the Kremlin. He had received three prison terms since his arrest, on a number of charges he has rejected as politically motivated.
The news of Navalny's death came a month before a presidential election in Russia that is widely expected to give President Vladimir Putin another six years in power. Questions about the cause of death lingered on Sunday, and it remained unclear when the authorities would release his body to his family. The delay could make identification of any poisoning impossible.

After the last verdict that handed him a 19-year term, Navalny said he understood he was "serving a life sentence, which is measured by the length of my life or the length of life of this regime." Putin is known for getting rid of his rivals such as Pyotr Verzilov, Vladimir Kara-Murza, and, Boris Nemtsov. Also, former intelligence operatives have been eliminated as well as many journalists. This is what communistic/socialistic countries do. Navalny, as well as many other patriots, known and unknown, have stood up against their country’s tyrannical governments. The first to come to mind is Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who stood up against Hitler’s National Socialist German Workers’ Party. As a pastor, theologian, and peace activist, Bonhoeffer stood against the atrocities of the Nazi party which resulted in unspeakable human suffering while the majority of other Christians quietly stood by. He, along with other protesters, were jailed and executed. Hitler killed 10’s of thousands of political opponents. |
Foreigners tend to perceive the United States as a country prone to political violence and assassination. There were attempted and successful assassinations against nine U.S. Presidents. Attempts have also been made on the lives of one President-elect (Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933) and three Presidential candidates (Theodore Roosevelt in 1912, Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, and George Wallace in 1972). In addition, eight governors, seven U.S. Senators, nine U.S. Congressmen, eleven mayors, 17 state legislators, and eleven judges have been violently attacked. No other country with a population of over 50 million has had as high a number of political assassinations or attempted assassinations.
Many Americans have lost their lives standing up against policies or actions that seem unjust, unfair and detrimental to our democratic way. These would include those in the civil rights movement and Peace movements during the Vietnam War and more recently LGBT and anti-abortion activists. But, probably the largest, most misunderstood, and most tragic is the Jan 6, 2021 protest.

There are so many unknowns about the Jan 6 rally, that we will probably never know the real truth, just like we will never really know how many illegal votes, stuffing of ballot boxes, inappropriate counting of ballots and manipulations and payoffs by Zuckerbuck fans took place. We can assume that Pelosi didn’t take Pres. Trump’s offer for more protection of the capitol building seriously and this led to the inability to protect the capitol. We can assume that this “insurrection” worked well for Democrats who like to “never let a serious crisis to go to waste.”
We can assume a lot, but let’s look at some facts. There have been, so far, 1,265 arrests from nearly all 50 states. (If you are interested in a full list of these arrests go HERE.) Some of those arrested have been held 3 ½ years without bail and without trials. (I learned in high school that we were guaranteed a quick and speedy trial. Guess not. Too long ago.) This has been the largest FBI investigation in the history of our country. Why? Ten thousand arrests were made after the BLM riots over the death of George Floyd. Not only were most of the terrorists, criminals, arsonists, and murderers released but millions of dollars were raised to “Go Fund” these thugs and ended up in BLM coffers. In Denver, there were 389 arrests but only 33 people were charged. There was close to a million dollars in destruction including a Columbus statue, the Civil War Monument and broken windows through out downtown. Did anyone pay? There were more and more destructive demonstrations throughout 2020-2022. Were people chased down, put in jail without bail, denied a speedy trial and required to pay damages? NO, NO, and NO. Why? |
These people are not considered a danger to the political system in charge. In fact, they are victims and must be given sympathy and be rewarded for their demonstrations. Politicians and even our Vice President had to rescue the objects of racial discrimination from punishment. They had a right to protest and destroy government and personal property without reparations. They of course will vote as Democrats and don’t support the opposing Republican leader.
Things are not just or right in our country anymore. Our government is as vindictive as Putin’s Russia. The FBI and Department of Justice are just tools for the Democratic Party to shut up and punish any opponents. You oppose their policies; you will pay with your life or your freedom. If you vote for them, you remain protected.
