DON’T FORGET THE REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS
THAT WANT TO TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHT TO VOTE!!!!
Whether you like Trump or not, we should be troubled by a small group of disgruntled Republicans that want to take away our right as citizens to pick the candidate of our choice. They seem to forget that in their frustration, they are acting exactly like liberal progressives that assume they are more qualified and educated to take care of us and make decisions for us.
The suit was brought to Colorado courts by former Colorado House and Senate Majority Leader Norma Anderson, age 91. She is presently an unaffiliated voter who recently left the Republican party because she said that the party isn’t like the party that she represented for 11 years.
The other plaintiffs include former Republican U.S. representative from Rhode Island Claudine (Cmarada) Schneider, who now lives in Colorado; Denver Post columnist and Republican activist Krista Kafer; Michelle Priola, Kathi Wright, and Christopher Castilian.

Some credit has to be given to those Democratic Colorado Supreme Court Justices that opposed removing Trump’s name from nomination. Chief Justice Brian D. Boatright dissented, arguing the constitutional questions were too complex to be solved in a state hearing. Justices Maria E. Berkenkotter and Carlos Samour also dissented. Hopefully, they at least considered the fact that citizens should have the right to choose.
Colorado Supreme Court Justices Richard L. Gabriel, Melissa Hart, Monica Márquez and William Hood III ruled for the petitioners. It is unfortunate that the Colorado Supreme Court is full of Democrats and until we vote in a Republican Governor, it will remain the same.
The 4-3 majority of liberal Colorado Supreme Court justices who ruled that former President Donald Trump could not appear on the 2024 presidential ballot in the state attended Ivy League colleges, while those in dissent attended state law schools. The four Democratic-appointed justices who ruled to nix Trump from the primary ballot included three Ivy League graduates, which shows a stark divide between the legal mindsets of those who were educated at elite institutions compared to the three justices who said they would not remove the Republican front-runner from the state’s ballot. Considering the progressive, antisemitic, pro-Palestine, agendas coming out of those Ivy League institutions we should not be surprised.

We also should not be surprised that the organization that sponsored and aided this suit against Trump was Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). CREW has received vast sums from major Democratic donors, including George Soros. Between 2017 and 2021, two nonprofits in the Soros-funded Open Society Foundations network combined to give CREW $2.85 million in funding. CREW President Noah Bookbinder said after the decision, "We just won before the Colorado Supreme Court in our challenge to keep Donald Trump off the ballot as disqualified under the 14th amendment for engaging in insurrection."
Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.) concurred with his state’s high court’s decision to remove Trump in his own X post, saying it was “right.” Congressman Jason Crow represents Colorado's Sixth Congressional District, encompassing Aurora and parts of ARAPAHOE, ADAMS, and Douglas Counties.
Let’s remember the names of these people who will continue to limit our freedoms and continue to operate under the assumption that we are not smart enough to make good decisions. Anyone who takes away your freedom to choose is operating in socialistic tyranny.

DENVER MAYOR TIGHTENS BUDGET BECAUSE OF IMMIGRANTS
$42 million. That's how much the city of Denver spent so far on supporting illegal immigrants. The state of Colorado recently awarded the city $3.5 million in reimbursements and the Department of Homeland Security has approved the city for up to another $9 million, but that is not going to be enough.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has announced budget cuts that include rotating weeklong closures of Denver Motor Vehicle offices, a reduction in park services and reduced recreation center hours to help pay to shelter thousands of migrants who have been sent north from Texas over the last year.
Much like New York, the reduced hours and days will impact the youth in the community. The prospect of the Montbello Recreation Center being closed on Saturdays beginning this week worries Dianne Cooks, a Montbello resident for four decades. The youth, unfortunately, will find other things to do on Saturdays that may not be as constructive. The young people of our country end up sacrificing for the needs of illegal immigrants.
Johnston has repeatedly warned that the city is facing a budget deficit of up to $180 million in 2024 due to the crisis. Of that, more than $8.1 million has gone to paying for hotel rooms and other facilities, $6.3 million has gone to pay for migrants’ bus tickets to other destinations as well as other transportation costs, and nearly $17.2 million has paid for STAFFING. (Who are the people that are making more from this than the illegals?)

The administration expects that number to jump by another $14.3 million shortly when the city pays off outstanding invoices from its hotel provider, rectifying a clerical error that disrupted payments last year. (I guess that is a problem with the staffing personnel.) City Councilwoman Stacie Gilmore has been a vocal critic of the Johnston administration’s bookkeeping. She resigned as chair of the council’s safety and housing committee.
Obviously, these cuts in Denver’s budget will continue to grow and could result in fewer police and firefighters. It will also effect grants to non-profits who provide assistance to the elderly, homeless, crisis centers, and domestic abuse. |
Mayor Johnston blames the problem on Republicans in Congress, but he as well as Gov. Polis were the ones who designated Denver and Colorado as Sanctuary city and state. (Polis will argue the point, but the 2019 bill makes it clear.) The problem lies with them!
There are cities and counties now that are stating they are non-sanctuary, because of the problems they are seeing in Denver. Cities include Monument and Colorado Springs, while many others are considering the change. Counties such as Mesa and El Paso are non-sanctuary. The resistance to Democratic policies is growing.
