A STUDY OF SOCIALISM, FACISM, AND NAZISM
I received a comment recently from a reader who implied that as a conservative, should I be called a fascist; and although I provided what I thought was an appropriate answer, I was still plagued with the word “fascist” and its usage for labeling anyone who is a Christian, conservative, Republican or anyone who doesn’t agree with progressive, socialistic, Democratic Party agendas. I decided to pursue information regarding fascism, socialism, Nazism, left-wing, and right-wing. What I found out will take longer to explain than what I have room for in this month’s newsletter. So, I will split it up into 2 months. The first part will deal with transference and political lies.
The Problem with Transference
Transference is a term used by Freud to describe patients that did bad or destructive things and then shifted blame onto others. It is similar to Flip Wilson’s statement, “The devil made me do it!” It is what many siblings do when caught doing wrong. They blame the other brother or sister. The wrongful assignment of blame is nothing more than a form of lying.
Sometimes transference is used by the guilty person to blame the victim for the wrong doing; thus, making the perpetrator look like an instrument of justice. Consequently, the bad guy becomes good guy. Truth is not only distorted, but becomes the inversion of it. It’s a big, big lie.
Sometimes transference is used by the guilty person to blame the victim for the wrong doing; thus, making the perpetrator look like an instrument of justice. Consequently, the bad guy becomes good guy. Truth is not only distorted, but becomes the inversion of it. It’s a big, big lie.
The “big lie” is a term routinely used by Hitler. He used the term to describe Nazi propaganda. In Mein Kampf, he contrasts big lie to little or ordinary lies. “The great masses of the people,” he writes, “more easily fall victim to the big lie than to a little one, since they themselves lie in little things, but would be ashamed of lies that were too big. Such a falsehood will never enter their heads and they will not be able to believe in the possibility of such monstrous effrontery and infamous misrepresentation in others. “ Hitler is referring to the lies for which the Jews were responsible. Hitler accuses the Jews of plotting the destruction of Germany, while he is plotting their destruction. He portrays himself as a truth-teller and attributes lying to those he is lying about. |
The big lie is back and it deals with fascism and Nazism in American politics. The political Left, backed by the majority of Democrats, insist that Donald Trump is Hitler and the GOP is the new Nazi Party. Fascism is used to intimidate conservatives and Republicans into renouncing Trump and conservative values for fear of being branded and cancelled. Nazism is the ultimate form of hate, and association with it, the ultimate hate crime.
This is the conundrum I am often confronted with as I listen to Democrats bully, intimidate and accuse conservatives of fascism while I would say their actions are typical of fascism. They want to call conservatives racist, bigots, and white supremacists while the history of the Democratic Party is full of slavery, Indian removal, segregation, Jim Crow, the KKK, racist US presidents and social programs that keep people in modern plantations while the Republican Party, starting with Abraham Lincoln, stood against slavery and segregation and were instrumental in getting civil rights bills passed. |
The media repeats the same language and worse. Both Reagan and Bush were referred to as Hitler, but now the term is used for all GOP and any associated with conservative ideas. Writers have espoused Trump as “the beginning of a fascist state,” “the specter of homegrown fascism,” and “Trump’s not Hitler, he’s Mussolini.” Maybe the worse propaganda are the statements that encourage the death of a US president; “It’s about time for a presidential assassination,” and ”Trump must hang.” Madonna wanted to “blow up the White House.” Rapper Big Sean spoke of murdering Trump with an ice pick.
A breakdown of confidence in the democratic process was instrumental in the fascist rise to power in Italy and the Nazi rise to power in Germany. The fascists and Nazis scorned parliamentary democracy as cumbersome, slow and unworkable. They declared democratically elected leaders illegitimate and openly backed strategies to oust them from power. Who is doing that in America?
It is the progressive Democrats who continue to question the validity of Trump’s presidency, refuse to accept results of election rules and procedures, want to change elector’s votes, call the Constitution an out-of-date document, and scoff at misuse of authority by the FBI and CIA. It is the Democrats who refuse to punish Antifa and BLM for their violent and destructive protests because they are the “brown shirts” of the party. |
Violence is the glory of fascism, Nazism, socialism, and communism. Political rivals made streets bloodbaths. The early days of fascism and Nazism saw routine battles between rival political groups. The Left in the US support these groups and they are politically protected and bailed out of jail by the highest officials in the US. At the same time, those demonstrating and speaking out for conservative values are jailed, harassed and silenced. |
