Heroes of Liberty is a new children’s book series. It has stories about Reagan, Sowell, and Barrett to show good character, values, and perseverance. Each book has colorful illustrations with an in depth story about each hero. Upcoming series will include John Wayne, Margaret Thatcher, Mark Twain, Douglas MacArthur, Alexander Hamilton, Rush Limbaugh, Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill. To find out what parents are looking for in books they took a survey and found parents are looking for books that reflect conservative values and avoid left-wing/critical race theory. The editor and board member Bethany Mandel, homeschool mother of five, expressed that they are not producing a product that parents have to worry about pre-reading out of concern of the context of the story. However, she shared that these series focus on American values and not conservative politics. Consequently, the stories focus on certain people but avoid speaking of others. I'm not sure not mentioning those the media labels as controversial is the best way. Especially since story time is supposed to be a learning and discussion time. Project Ideas for Your Homeschoolers:
Out in the country it can be quite windy. Here is a fun project to turn windy days into a musical symphony.
Wind Chime Project:
God said make music with flutes, tambourines and all kinds of musical instruments. Here is a project that you and your student can grab bottle caps, lids, cans, buttons, sticks, glass bottles to create an instrument. Here are couple of videos and projects that you can incorporate bible, art, and music. With music you can see what sound each item makes and what sounds nice together to create your wind chime.
