Field Trips are an exciting day to get out of the house and go explore. How about a trip to the LaZyB Acres Alpaca. On this trip students will be able to walk around, watch the baby alpacas eat as they hum, observe the different color alpacas, and pet them in the barn. Before the trip students could study where they originated, how they helped families, and even what is the difference between alpacas and llamas. Once you visit I can’t promise that you will not want to take one of these sweet animals home!

Presidents' Day is on its way as well. Here are a few sites where you can print coloring pages, worksheets, videos, virtual tours, and other resources that you can look through and use for Presidents' Day lessons.
- Beth Gorden shares elementary free coloring pages on each president with facts along with a free printable president book. At the end of each page you can download each of these resources and print them off.
- The White House website provides a gallery of all of the U.S. Presidents with facts and information. As students study one or more presidents they can print off Jenn’s free American’s Presidents Notebook to take notes.
- Sallie Borrink shares created charts, lapbooks, writing pages, and fact cards about presidents. Items cost between $1.00-$3.50. There are also President’s favorite food recipes to try, virtual tours, and videos. Videos on George Washington and Abraham Lincoln seem more appropriate for high school students. I would watch them first to see if they provide the information needed for lessons or watch them together for discussions.
- Susan provides a free printable card game.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.
Proverbs 1:7-9
