GOVERNOR DENIES THAT COLORADO IS A SANCTUARY STATE
Last month I explained what a sanctuary city/state was and how HB 1124, signed by Governor Polis signed, actually made us a sanctuary state. Now Governor Polis is declaring that we are NOT a sanctuary state.
"Colorado is not and has never been a sanctuary state and the governor is not focused on buzzwords but on ensuring our law enforcement resources go toward fighting actual crimes to help make Coloradans safer," a spokesperson for Gov. Jared Polis told Colorado Politics.
So, is Colorado a sanctuary state or not? Several groups, in fact, identify Colorado as a "sanctuary" state.
The Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service listed Colorado among 11 "sanctuary" states. Also on its list are California, New Mexico and New York. The Center for Immigration Studies also included Colorado in its map of "sanctuary" jurisdictions. Under Colorado, the group listed 14 areas as also sanctuary places, notably the city of Denver and Boulder County. Boulder voted to declare itself a sanctuary city, while Aurora has voted to reject such a label.

And the state adopted a 2019 law whose provisions fall under the broad outlines of what constitutes a "sanctuary" state. No legal definition of a "sanctuary" city or state exists, but broadly speaking, it refers to a community that expressly refuses to cooperate with federal authorities on enforcing immigration laws.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock has said Denver is not a sanctuary city, but the Denver City Council in 2017 passed an ordinance that prohibits “city employees from collecting information on immigration or citizenship status; prohibits the sharing of any other information about individuals for purposes of immigration enforcement; and, memorializes predominant practices by prohibiting use of city resources or City cooperation with civil immigration enforcement.” |
Now Governor Polis is sending immigrants to Chicago and New York City, drawing ire from his fellow Democrats. The move echoes the busing campaign that red states such as Florida and Texas have deployed, but Polis defended the move, arguing that about 70% of the immigrants being transported did not have Colorado as their final destination and that his administration is treating them with "dignity and respect." From Dec. 9 to Jan 19, 2023, over 3,500 illegal immigrants have arrived in Denver. Most of them were moved from border states such as Texas, according to the city. Michael Hancock, Denver's mayor, declared a state of emergency last month and has requested federal aid to assist with the influx of immigrants. |
It certainly ensures liberal votes to sign a bill and promote ideology that supports “sanctuary” policies but once politicians find out the consequences, they want to deny what they have created by using the excuse of “I didn’t ever say “sanctuary city/state.” Just another Liberal Democratic idea that wasn’t thought through.
COLORADO MEDICAL ASSOCIATIONS STANDUP TO FDA REGARDING IVERMECTIN
Many doctors, nurse practitioners and clinic directors who were prescribing Ivermectin were sent threatening letters from the Federal Food and Drug Administration during the COVID outbreak. Some doctors who had practiced for 30 years or more with no problems were suddenly reported to their state medical board. Many doctors and nurses were fired from their jobs. The Office of the Attorney General in many states believed what the FDA said and threatened legal action against these medical workers which could cost as much as $5000 per violation.
These letters and other anti-ivermectin messaging are the subject of a lawsuit filed by three doctors against the agency. The doctors argue that the FDA illegally interfered with their ability to treat patients. The attorneys defending the government argued that the messages were just recommendations. |
Dr. Matthew Dark, a spokesperson for Roots Medical and Colorado Healthcare Providers for Freedom, which has more than 275 physicians in the group, stated that several doctors in Colorado are facing investigations by the state medical board. When asked about the FDA’s new claim, Dark stated: “They knew it was safe for humans, and they made that very accusatory thing if you were a doctor prescribing this, you were an idiot. You were practicing like a hillbilly. So that message was loud and clear.” Dark was referring to a message from the FDA which said, “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously y’all. Stop it.” |
Because of the FDA’s media blitz, pharmacies became hesitant to fill prescriptions and actually harassed patients regarding their prescriptions. Soon it was impossible to find Ivermectin at your local pharmacy. “There has never been a drug, like ivermectin, so singular at being picked out and said that ‘we will not fill under any circumstances.’ That has never happened before,” said Dr. Dark.
It was obvious that the FDA had an agenda to push the new vaccine, because it was going to make the industry billions of dollars. They didn’t have time to do control trials for safety’s sake, they had to use Emergency Use Authorization.
“It completely destroys the vaccine position,” Dark said. “One thing that’s written very clearly is that you cannot have a known acceptable form of treatment out there available to the public and still be operating under emergency use.” If there was a possible treatment for COVID-19, the vaccine would not be able to obtain emergency authorization. It appears that money is more important than lives. Ivermectin is used safely around the world. Doctors have testified to treating patients early and seeing amazing results and quick recovery. Dr. Dark of Roots Medical has treated 1000’s of people with early COVID, saw clear improvements often within hours and within two days most symptoms are gone. |
It is good to know that there are doctors, nurses and other medical assistants that are aware of the government’s misuse of power and are standing up against government tyranny. If you are interested and want more information, please go to https://www.rootsmedical.net/.
