THE NONEXISTENT RED WAVE
I don’t know about you, but I was a little disappointed after election day that there wasn’t a Red Wave. I haven’t quite figured out what happened to the pollsters, but considering that the media is biased towards Democrats, maybe the pollsters had their motives too. What they were can only be speculated but, I don’t really have the time nor the desire to spend much time there.
After spending some time expressing my concerns with God, I got a better understanding of how to look at the results. God is not concerned with which party wins, but with the salvation of souls and the growth of the Kingdom. I have to say we have a lot of work to do. It was interesting to note that many of the races were really close, much more than before. More conservative candidates were successful than previously but voting rules for some states are questionable. Why does it take 2-3 weeks to count votes? |
I think the GOP picked some weak candidates and didn’t really financially support others. While O’Dea got help from Republican senators like Tim Scott of South Carolina and Joni Ernst of Iowa, national Republican-aligned groups did not invest much in the race. Meanwhile, O’Dea raised just over $7 million for his run, compared to Bennet, who brought in more than $20 million for his run and got help from Democratic-aligned PACs.
It was hard for me to understand the Pennsylvania results, but Pennsylvania has the same problem as Colorado. All the democratic votes are in the big cities where corruption, crime, unions and dependency are located. Republicans are dominant in the rural areas where farmers produce a variety of crops. This is also home to the Amish. Hard to believe that voters would elect a radical socialist who is not well enough to think or speak clearly. |
If you look at the voting in Colorado, you can see that the eastern plains and the western slope share the same conservative values. Unfortunately, we have too many people moving to the mountain regions which support green policies, more government control and spending on social agendas. We have to work to convince some people that conservatives are not racists or Nazis, but concerned families hoping for less government control and spending, more protection of farms, businesses and families, respect for first responders and the military, protection of Christian values and love for our Constitution and country.
Those people would be the unaffiliated voters in Colorado. If we look at the turnout for the latest primaries, you will see that from 2018 to 2022 there is a continuous increase in unaffiliated participation in Republican primaries. In the 2022 primaries there were 93,000 more unaffiliated voters than in 2020. Since the Democratic Party has 4.5 times more registered voters than Republicans, the unaffiliated voter must be reached and conservative ideas and values explained.

Conservatives have to express truth in love, be open to discuss without judging, forgiving when offended, standing up against today’s culture without emotional outbursts, and not surrendering our beliefs to government’s mandates and anti-constitutional laws. We need to portray the principles of the Kingdom of God. KLN
