NEWSOM FOR PRESIDENT?
After months of hearing about the homeless conditions in San Francisco and the streets filled with drugs, human feces, and out of control crime, suddenly all of this disappeared when Xi Jinping came to town. I can’t imagine how lucky the neighborhood residents felt that having a vital U.S.-China summit would bring the cleanup that they had be asking about for years. What was Gov. Newsom’s response?
"I know folks are saying, 'Oh they're just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming to town.' That's true, because it's true — but it's also true for months and months and months before APEC [Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit], we've been having conversations," the California Governor said while unveiling of a new program to plant trees in urban neighborhoods. Newsom also commented, “Anytime you put on an event — by definition — you know you have people over at your house, you’re gonna clean up the house.”
Newsom is not cleaning up the city to benefit its residents or to improve the city’s livability in any way. Rather, he admitted that he is cleaning the city due to the publicity that the summit will bring. This is the same man that recently met personally with Chairman Xi in China to discuss climate action, economic development, cultural exchange, human rights concerns, and democracy. He is also considering a run for President of the U.S. on the Democratic ticket. What does this tell us about his character? |
Let us first consider any possible positive motives. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is supposed to promote sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region which is a “nice” reason to get together. How much was accomplished is hard to know since everyone involved is so “tight lipped” including our President, who would have a hard time explaining anyway.
Secondly, San Francisco Mayor London Breed said the conference could help the city with an anticipated $53 million injected into the economy, adding that "tourism is our business here in San Francisco." Earning a little money is always good for a state that has the largest outstanding debt of any U.S. state, 541.24 billion U.S. dollars.

So, the positives include being able to sit down with our enemies and enjoy conversations about things we can’t even resolve and earn a little money while we are at it. Hmm. Let’s consider the negatives here.
Newsom confessed that he and his Democratic officials had been working on the homeless issue for months and months and months. Sounds like they don’t have any constructive ideas (except planting trees) or they just like to conversate. Just what our government needs, more conversation and less work done. (I do like the planting of trees instead of tearing them down for more wind powered turbine fields.) The “gonna clean up the house” idea may appeal to some people, but if sweeping it all under the rug is his idea of clean, I am reminded of all the coverups his President has done, using the FBI and the CIA as rugs. We don’t need “cute” excuses, we need real honesty in the White House. He might be able to get away with this in California (although half a million people leaving might say something) but hopefully not in Washington, D.C. |
I like what Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, "The saddest part of this is that California's leaders are showing they could clean up their streets - they just choose not to. Here in Arkansas, we're cracking down on crime, lowering taxes, and investing in communities. And we're doing it for Arkansans, not the CCP."
This seems to be the plight of our citizen’s today. Too often men/women like Gavin Newsom hold positions of authority and really have little concern for the common taxpayers. They are interested in “show”ing concern for bigger world issues that they have no ability to resolve while they also are unable to resolve their own problems. They “show” support of special interest groups, while ignoring the special needs of their citizens. It is good for “show” since they have bigger plans for their career in government where citizens that they ignore pay their salaries.
In reference to the city leaders in San Francisco, Mesncik, a small business owner, told the Post, “They are very good at creating an illusion and they are very good at performance art." He added, “It’s a Band-Aid and indicative of a poor administration. And you know, really at this point, the frustration couldn’t be any louder."

That is exactly what we all feel about the dynamics of Biden’s administration. FRUSTRATION! We are tired of deception, political intrigue, cut throat politics, unequal justice and punishment, political assassination, suspension of personal rights, lack of integrity, government threats and pressure to accept what is immoral, abnormal and un-Christian. Gavin Newsom is the perfect example of what is wrong with our society today. We are out to see the Wizard, but soon find out that we are not supposed to “look at the man behind the curtain.” There are too many posers, too many schemers, too many deceivers and too many people just out for their own advancement. We need to begin to pull back the curtain and see who is really there. KLN |
