The town of Byers is gearing up for a couple of busy months. The residents there are working towards their goal of increased community involvement in their small town. Recently, they have seen a large influx of transients who are passing through and leaving behind a whole lot of trash, as well as other undesirable paraphernalia. Residents are joining forces with local businesses during the last week of March for the Black Bag Challenge. Residents are encouraged to get out to pick up the trash that has been dumped, blown in, or left behind by the wind, or by people. It is their hope to educate residents about the importance of trash pickup, but also to encourage love for their neighborhood. Great job Byers townspeople! |
Strasburg is gearing up for their spring season of sports and activities. The recreation district has something youth, adult and seniors alike. Check out the long list of fun programs to join here. |
If you are someone looking for a place to connect, an opportunity to serve, or have a desire to utilize your talents for the greater good, then this might be the group for you. There are many in the communities along the corridor and beyond, to create a group that will meet the needs of the local elderly, youth and small businesses. The Corridor Community Connections group is in the beginning stages of a network of communities coming together to connect the corridor towns of Strasburg, Byers, Deer Trail, Bennett and beyond.
The next meeting for the group is Tuesday, April 4th @ 6:30 pm. This is a free event, and no membership fee to join if you are interested in signing on. So mark your calendars and join us for a new adventure! If you are interested in finding out more about the group, please start here. You will find announcements and information about the group.
